Wild Pigeons Abound on Prairies in Yankton County

J.H. Blakely, of Utica, in this county, says that the wild pigeons which now abound on the prairies in large numbers, are proving the most efficient agency he knows of for the destruction of young grasshoppers. They are constantly cramming themselves with the detestable insects. Wild pigeons should not be hunted or killed for sport. — Yankton Herald.
