The wild pigeons have made their periodical return in unusual numbers this season; the sportsmen in our vicinity have commenced active operations against them, and their success has of course been uncommon. We are requested to caution them to be very careful of their wadding at this dry time. The woods have been on fire in several places frequented by the pigeons; the fire is supposed to have been kindled by the burning wads.
