The annual gathering of the Purple Martins continues at their midtown roost near 44th and Farnam Streets. On the evening of 8 July, there were an estimated 5000 martins doing their normal thing, which is always spectacle to enjoy, though one which is enjoyed by so few.

There were martins soaring about in this grand mix of blues and whites above midtown.
These martins were on the wires along the alley up near 40th street, just north of Farnam Street.
There were three watchers, including Todd, from Denver, who made certain to visit the scene and appreciate the many martins, and their impressive display ... one he has not seen anything like before.
